NOVEMBER 2006
Nov 1Today a major report about global warming came out from the UK government. Called the Stern report--Nicholas sTern, et al.--is an economic assessment of how much economic damage will be done to the world economy if GW is not addressed.

It reports the concensus that we may go up global average of 2 degrees C or 4-5 degrees Fahrenheit.Or it may be more if we don't do anything. It's got all the dire effects predicted by several different studies/scientists. It outlines what nations can do to keep temps from rising much more than 2 C and still have some growth.

Some people love it, some people don't think it does enough. Some say it's nuts. I didn't know about it until I saw it online somewhere.

Nov 2Another major study released today! By group of scientists from several countries studying fishing and fishery health around the world. It was set up to study biodiversity and found that fisheries need more diversity to survive well. There is not a happy conclusion--if we don't do more to restrict some areas from any fishing, in addition to letting other fisheries recover more--there will be no fish or any other sea creatures by 2050. Their study says 2048 for the total collapse of all world fisheries.

No more seafood, period, that's all folks. Hard to take that idea in at first. Like the Stern study, many different points of view. Both studies have only been out very few days yet. I personally believe in the great possibility of the end of seafood and the warming problems addressed in the Stern report.

Nov 4Yet another climate study report, this time from the UK government. It says that the Stern report doesn't go far enough in restricting greenhouse gases and reducing them.

Dow took a dive a few days ago of 100 pts but has come up some. Dollar is falling against euro and other foreign currencies but this is no surprise to many; how far it goes may be a surprise. Housing market is still slowing/falling depending on how you regard the figures.

I’ve been in cyberspace for 8 years! It was 8 years ago in October/November I went out looking for info on an actor from a TV show. How far that is from the present daily activity I have of looking at resource depletion and economic and global warming activities.
